On the sign up form for the Used Car Ownership Text Guide that includes your name, email address, and, if you select a text message category, your mobile phone number and the consent details described below.

We also receive limited technical information automatically, such as browser type, device type, referring page, and IP address, when you visit the site.

We use the information you provide to answer written inquiries, to deliver the ownership resources you request, to send the text message categories you consented to, and to maintain records of consent. We also use aggregate technical information to keep the site working and to understand which resources readers use.

Text messages are optional. We send text messages only for the categories you check on the sign up form:

• Account notifications from SecondMile Guide. Message frequency varies based on account activity.
• Marketing messages from SecondMile Guide. Message frequency varies, generally up to 4 messages per month.

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, email hello@secondmileguide.com and we will delete it.

Our articles may link to manufacturer resources, government recall databases, or other outside pages. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
